Micro Stay Brno.

When designing this micro apartment in Brno, we worked with every centimetre of space. The sleeping area, dining space, workstation, kitchenette, storage and bathroom are connected into one carefully considered whole. Instead of overcrowding the interior, we chose clean lines, bespoke furniture and a material palette that gives the apartment a calm, modern and subtly industrial character.

The layout was a key part of the design. In a small apartment, choosing attractive furniture is not enough — every element must have a clear purpose. The bed is naturally integrated into the space, the dining table also serves as a workstation, and the kitchen provides everything needed for a short stay. Storage is designed to give guests room for personal belongings while keeping the interior clean and uncluttered.

The material scheme combines neutral tones, wood, dark accents and a concrete texture. Together, they create an apartment that does not feel anonymous but has a character of its own. Visual impact is especially important in short-term rentals: the interior needs to stand out in photographs, yet it cannot be designed for effect alone. It must also work in real operation, with frequent use, cleaning and a constant turnover of guests.

The kitchen is compact and practical. Its dark cabinetry feels elegant, works naturally with the other materials and visually anchors the room. The dining area creates a comfortable place for breakfast, work or an evening meal. Thanks to the considered arrangement, the apartment does not feel cramped and offers clearly defined zones despite its small footprint.

The bathroom is designed for durability, easy maintenance and visual clarity. A concrete finish, walk-in shower, wall-hung toilet, washbasin and round mirror create a practical space suited to short-term accommodation. The materials can withstand intensive use while supporting the consistent character of the entire interior.

Lighting visually divides the functional zones and improves guest comfort in the compact space. A combination of spot, linear and accent lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere while providing enough light for everyday use. The project shows that even a small apartment can be thoughtful, functional and distinctive. Good design brings not only aesthetic value, but also smoother operation, easier maintenance and a stronger first impression. byMOOD approaches short-term rental interiors comprehensively — from layout, materials and visualisations to technical solutions and turnkey delivery.
